Hot Toys MMS 137 1/6 Falconer Predator Review

Up for my little blog today is the MMS 137 Falconer Predator from Hottoys.

I just picked this baby up together with Barney Ross and to be honest i didn't think i was going to get this till today. The main reason i didn't even pre-ordered this guy was that it features a unremovable Biomask. That's right a unremovable Biomask! This is the seventh 1/6 predator in my collection but the first with unremovable mask.On top of that he barely has any accessories (i'll get to that later).But when i saw it in person, his awesomeness just overshadowed his materialistic flaws lol.

As with my previous review of the Berserker, this guy is also from the movie Predators. He is one of the 'Black' tribe predators.

He spots all the same articulations of the Berserker predator with POAs at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, thighs, knees & ankles.

His dreads are also swept back and are brown coloured.

                                               

Led lights operation is same as the Berserker also.Out of the box we have to put in the flat battery in the back compartment behind the body armour.There is a switch behinds also that switches on the light.

The Falconer spots a unique Biomask that is designed after a bird. It expresses the characteristic of this hunter(using aerial recon/ tactics). His also wears an armoured left glove furthermore making him look like a bird handler which is cool lol.

Note that he doesn't have a suicide bomb on his left gauntlet. It doesn't have any lit that can be opened.

He comes with a extra opened palm hand for both hands also.

He comes with 3 inter changeable wrist blades of different lengths that can be fitted into his right gauntlet like the Berserker.

He spot the same type of boots like the Berserker. The thighs and calf  armours are also nicely sculpted.

These black tribe predators have a different dressing code than the classic tribe. While the classics are more heavily/bulky geared, the black tribe is more simple and sleek looking.

As you should have noted by now this predator doesn't have a shoulder cannon. However the peg hole for mounting the shoulder cannon is present  on the left shoulder armour for fitting the falcon stand.

The transparent stand that's holds the falcon is ugly in my opinion, it should at least have one or two articulation points for more posing rather than just like that...a dead piece of plastic. I would rather they used magnet to attach the falcon to his shoulders or hand(that would be cool) but oh well.....

Now to the accessories, first we have the falcon. This just a painted model of the falcon with no additional features. They could have at least added led lights, that would make the overall feel better.

The sculpt is nice and represents the movie counterpart well, but other than that that's all there is to it, nothing special.

Next we have the other unique accessory, a predator skull. Now as far as i know this is only the second time Hottoys did a predator skull, the first one at the display stand of the She predator Machiko and this.

Now the predator skull is very well sculpted and painted. The details are astonishing. The scale of the skull is also good and accurate lol.

The last accessory is the traditional Hottoys display stand with the Predators logo and Falconer name printed on it.

In my little predator collection of seven, this is the predator with the least accessories.

So here's the recap:

Pros: -Nice armour design

           -Solid Biomask design

                 -3 different interchangeable

                       wrist blades of different length

                        -Led targeting lights on Biomask

   -Falcon accessory

                      -Solid Predator skull accessory

 Cons: -Unremovable Biomask

  -Ugly falcon stand

                                  -Lack of accessories for the price point

                       -Falcon can be further improved

If you are a predator fan boy or just love the movie alot i recommend this figure to you. I got it as he looks solid and nice but to be frank i don't think the price point justify the purchase if you're not really into it. But if you like this kind of figures, the Falconer will definitely make a presence in your collection.till next time ciao!!
